What does it mean to have a selection?

It suggests that there has been a process. A careful choosing and gathering over time. A search for meaning.  A selection is the tangible result of time spent sifting through the intangible winding road of life, experiences and encounters.  

The wines in this selection are the result of more than 20 years of loving, living, tasting and learning about wine. They represent countless hours in the vineyard, in the cellars. Collaborations and intersections of experiences with wine makers, mentors and teachers. And of course Mother Nature who has the final say. 

The purpose of Sublime Selection is to share this collection with our community in Luxembourg. 

A selection groups together  elements that have some things in common worth noting but that also each have their slight differences that make them unique.  

The wines in our selection have in common, number one, pleasure. The experience of wine is meant to procure pleasure. That pleasure can be on multiple levels - physical, metaphysical and intellectual. There is also the pleasure of sharing. Wine is meant to be shared. Share the experience. Share the pleasure. Share the time we travel together on this earth. Share the intellectual curiosity and fascination of what is basically just fermented fruit stored in a bottle. 

The other thing Sublime Selection wines have in common is that they are made by people that we know and love. There are humans behind every bottle. Not only the wine maker him or herself but all the people that participate in the process of making the wine - in the vineyards and in the cellars- countless hours, countless gestures repeated to train the vine, work the land, harvest the grapes, vinify and raise the wines before bottling them and sending them out into the world for our delight!

The people that make these wines are all people we have worked with for many years. We know them. We know their strengths and weaknesses. We know how their personalities are expressed in the wines. And that is part of what we want to share with you. 

The collection of wines in Sublime Selection is the tip of the iceberg of the work that we do with our mother company Sublime Terroir. Sublime Teroir is our wine brokering company that sells wines through professional chanels across the globe. We have worked passionately and diligently behind the scenes to get wines to the best tables around the world. Ironically, we are rarely face to face with the final consumer. Hence the creation of Sublime Selection in 2021.

The work of Sublime Terroir and Sublime Selection is at the cross roads of relationships, taste, wine and business. A big intersection of energies that we hold as true to ourselves as we can.
